Our latest project in Kitchener, ON, was a prime example of how a lacklustre landscape can be transformed into a private oasis.
The family who owned the property had a landscape installed years ago, but it just didn't meet their expectations. Over time, they tried to get used to it, but it just didn't work for them. They approached us, hoping we could help them revamp their outdoor space.
The main issue with their previous landscape was an odd-shaped seating wall that cut off a corner of the patio, making it unusable. The plants they had didn't reflect their tastes, they needed more privacy from their neighbours, and the lawn was uneven. This was causing them much frustration, as they needed help to use their outdoor space to its full potential.
Our solution was to redesign the space and bring it to life. We started by straightening the seating wall to make the patio more usable. The straightened wall improved the patio's overall look and made the space more functional. The family now had a comfortable seating area to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Next, we removed the plants that didn't fit the family's style and added new plants that reflected their tastes. The new plants not only added a pop of colour to the space but also provided a more natural look that the family was looking for.
To increase privacy, we added privacy screens to screen out the neighbours' yard. This not only added an extra layer of privacy but also added a decorative element to the space. The screens were strategically placed to create a secluded outdoor oasis where the family could relax and enjoy their time outside.
We regraded the lawn to make it usable and removed the ditch. This improved the overall look of the space and made the lawn much more functional. The family could now use their lawn kids to play or the family pet.
We also added a water feature to add the sound of cascading water. The sound of water not only adds a peaceful and calming atmosphere to the space but also helps to mask any noise from the surrounding area. The water feature was strategically placed so it could be enjoyed from the patio area.
To complete the transformation, we added lighting to provide ambiance at night. The lighting provided a warm and inviting atmosphere at night and added an extra layer of security to the property. The family could now enjoy their outdoor space even after the sun went down.
This project resulted in a stunning outdoor space that the family can enjoy for years. They now have a private oasis where they can relax and spend time with family and friends. The new design reflects their style, and our changes have made their outdoor space a functional and beautiful extension of their home.
